Roof Solar Hot Water Systems
Roof systems work by pumping water (from the tank) to the solar collector, which is mounted on the roof. The collector heats the water from the energy it has absorbed from the sun. As the water heats up, it rises and leaves the collector to be transported back into the tank. This continues throughout the day until the tank reaches its maximum stored temperature.
The advantage of the Rheem roof mounted solar hot water systems is it is made of quality stainless steel which acts as a natural barrier to corrosion. Most conventional water heaters are made of mild steel which require a sacrificial anode for protection whereas the anti-corrosive properties of stainless steel mean that an anode is not necessary – therefore they require less maintenance.
Ground Systems
Ground mounted systems rely on inbuilt pumps to push the water through the system. The water passes through channels in the solar collector where the water is heated. As the water moves out of the collector and into the tank, the tank gradually gets hotter until the water reaches its maximum stored temperature.

The Australis Series is our largest selling collector. Designed to supply you and your family with abundant hot water. The Australis collector is solidly constructed from high grade copper and aluminium, and is housed in a durable COLOURBOND® steel tray.
Titan – The Ultimate Collector
The Titan Series collector is designed especially for high performance. Rheem has taken advantage of the latest advances in heat-transfer technology to build superior solar collectors to gather as much of the sun’s energy as required. The Titan series collector uses advanced titanium coated copper solar absorber plant combining first grade copper with titanium, to show superior qualities in solar performance when compared with other solar collectors available.
RL Series – Non Frost System
If your home is not subject to frost, and you have good quality drinking water, then the RL Series solar hot water system is ideal. This system operates on the natural thermosiphon principle, i.e. when water is heated it rises. The RL Series system directly heats the water as it passes through the collectors and then automatically circulates it back into the storage tank.
RLX Series
For areas which experience frost or snow and perhaps have less than reliable water quality, the Rheem RLX Series solar hot water system is the only choice.
NPT Collector
is the largest selling collector. Designed to supply your family with abundant hot water. The NPT collector is solidly constructed from high grade copper and aluminium, and is housed in a durable Zincalume tray.
TBT Collector
is designed especially for high performance. Rheem has taken advantage of the latest advances in heat-transfer technology to build superior solar collectors to gather as much of the sun’s energy as required. The TBT Series collector uses advanced titanium coated copper solar absorber plate combined first grade copper with titanium, this is a superior solar collector when compared to other imported collectors
